I was watching VIVA Polska a few days ago, and i noticed a popstar called Doda, or Doda Elektroda as she is sometimes known. She has songs like Nej Die Sie and Katharsis, she is one of the most popular popstars from Poland and she is amazingly hot.

Not only hot, but a member of MENSA with an IQ score of 156! She was a former vocalist in a Polish band called “Virgin” and is now a solo artist.

Lady Gaga – Just Dance still #1 UK

She has made it 3 weeks at number 1, Lady Gaga with Just Dance. This is despite the song being months and months old, i first saw her perform this live back in September at The Dome. Strange how the U.S star has taken so long to break into the UK.

Kat DaLuna has been kicking around for longer, and she is yet to make a breakthrough in the UK despite selling well in the U.S and the rest of europe.

Sony Vaio P Series Netbook/Laptop

Bringin Sexy Back

You can pre-order the latest in Netbooks, the stylish Sony P Series Laptop. Is it a laptop or is it a netbook? The size would suggest a netbook, but the price tells a different story. The base model comes in at £849 on Sonystyle, and goes all the way up to £1300+ for the top end SSD model.

What are you getting for your money? (Base model, £849)

  • 8″ Screen (UWXVGA 1600 x768 LCD LED Technology)
  • Intel Atom CPU Z5320 (1.33mhz 533mhz FSB)
  • 3G Broadband ready
  • Dual boot with Xross media bar and Vista Home Premium w/ SP1
  • 60GB HDD (SATA 4200rpm)
  • 2GB RAM (DDR2-533)
  • WIFI, 2xUSB, Built in camera, Memory Stick Slot)

The more expensive models come with all of this as standard but faster CPUs as the price goes up, SSD Hard drive and Vista business.

It is way to expensive to be just a netbook, with its rivals less than half the price. You can get an Asus eeePC for under £200 and the better models for under £400, which makes them half the price. There are others from different manufacturers aswell like the MSI Wind (around £300),  Samsung, Toshiba, Compaq, HP, Lenovo and others also offer much much cheaper alternatives. None of them offer the same style and finish as the Vaio, but is it worth double or more the price for a mini-laptop?

Sunny Beach Bulgaria Review

Bloody Beach
Bloody Beach
Summer is coming! If you want to go to Sunny Beach, Bulgaria but are unsure about the place i will fill you in. I was there in 2007 and from what i have heard from others, not much has changed about the place. I wrote a review on a different website last year, so i will put some points up from that.

Hotel
The hotel i was in, The Majestic, is probably the best in the area. Huge place, more of a complex than a hotel. Private section of beach (not that it matters, its all sand! :P ) and more facilities than you would need including conference rooms, shop, spa, gym and its own tatoo parlour. The bad things about this hotel was the distance from nightlife and the food. The majority of the hotels run along the beach front, and the Majestic is at the far end of that. It was about a 15-20 minute walk to the nightlife, but there are plenty bars on the way :) The rooms are amazing, i was in a residance, which you can buy.

Nightlife
As i have said there is lots of nightlife, places like Disco Orange, Grabarna Buss, Mania, Lazur, Corner Bar, and more. Drinks are not too cheap! People have the impression that all drinks are cheap and you will spend next to nothing. This is NOT true! Some drinks like local beer, cocktails and shots are cheap, if you want to drink those then it maybe cheap. Drink anything imported like Smirnoff vodka, Redbull, branded beers like Budweiser or Stella and it is not as cheap as you think. Prices are ‘holiday prices’ which is maybe a little bit less than in Newcastle (or England) but not a large amount. However buying Alcohol at the supermarket is cheap. You can buy bottles of branded vodka and it is very cheap in comparison to the UK.

Eating out is not expensive and there are many places you can go. On the beach front there is kebab stand after kebab stand selling chicken kebab and chips. The meat is very thin and you dont get much, same with the chips. You basically get scraps from most the stands. Eating in restautants is not expensive and the food is very good. There are also neumerous McDonalds around Sunny Beach.

Trouble, Fights, Prostitutes and the rest

The biggest worry of people is trouble in Bulgaria. You probably have heard of people getting beaten up, prostitutes everywhere, stealing, beggers and the rest. It is all true. However, noticing any of this depends on you to some degree. If you are going with a group of lads and act like you are “the boys” and be cheeky, play up or whatever, some people may not take to kindly to it and you might have problems.
There are prostitutes and if you are going with other men then its likely you will get approached, this will happen alot. If you are going with a women (i.e. a couple) then this probably will not happen.

Its fair to say if you are a girl you will probably be alright. If you are a man however it could be a different story all together :D
Bulgaria is hit and miss with people. I know of some who love it and go back year after year. Others will not go back. It all depends what you want in your holiday and what you are into.

EU Map Sculpture – Genius

Posted by Michael on January 15, 2009

eu-sculpture

The Map of EU Sculpture which was unvailed is genius :) The map shows the EU member states and represents them in a unique fashion. Sweden is shown as flatpack furnature i.e. Ikea, Bulgaria is shown as Europes toilet which has upset the secretary of the Bulgarian office. The funniest part of it all was the empty space which represents the UK, an empty space within Europe :)

Kaká to Man City 100M and 500k/week on/off

Posted by Michael on January 15, 2009

kaka

AC Milan have announced that they are “considering the bid” Manchester City have made for Kaká. The bid is supposedly in the region of £100 Million, which will see Kaká getting £500k/week in his back pocket.

Will he go? Will he have a choice is more of the question. If Milan get £100 Million they surely have to sell, he doesnt have to leave, but maybe even Milan will try to persuade him to go to City as much as City will.

Unemployment is setting to keep on rising with companies going out of business and downsizing all over the place. I was out in Newcatle city centre and there were a few shops such as Jack Jones with notices up saying they have shut. Nissan have announced 1200 job cuts, they are one of the biggest employers in the North East.
