Raúl to Newcastle?

Posted by Michael on July 21, 2010

I heard rumors about this…Raúl of Real Madrid, Spanish Legend wants a move to the EPL, and Newcastle may try to get him!! That would be amazing!!!!

I doubt they will, because its Newcastle. Not the greatest team anymore, not even in Europe, and teams like Tottenham are supposed to be sniffing around him.

If he comes to Newcastle it would be a HUGE signing for the club. Some people might say hes past it; Well he isnt. He still got in the Real Madrid team last season, even with all their stars, and still scored goals. Hes 33, i think he could do a good job for another 2-3 years at the right place, no idea if that would be Newcastle.

He would be by far the best player at the club, which is both good and bad.

I hope the no.7 Shirt is free ;)

Spain are the best team in the world

According to the new FIFA rankings…They dont really mean anything, well unless you are number 1, then you can go around saying it!

France drop all the way to 21st, behind Egypt (9th), Greece (12th) and even Australia (20th). Italy also drop to 11th, thats the 2 finalists from only 4 years ago out of the top 10.

England are 7th, with Netherlands and Brazil 2nd and 3rd.

Its the most odd looking Rankings list i have seen, which is probably why nobody takes any notice of it. Gabon ahead of teams like Sweden, Ireland and even teams which qualified for the world cup like Cameroon and Korea!?!? WTF?!?!?

What do you think of the FIFA world rankings?

España = CAMPEONES!!!!!!

Posted by Michael on July 13, 2010

CAMPEONES, CAMPEONES, olé olé olé!

Yes!! Spain did it and won the World Cup for the very first time on Sunday night!! I am sure you are aware, of all of this now, it is Tuesday, so it was a few days ago. They beat Netherlands 1-0 after extra time, with a Andrés Iniesta goal :)

What a great night it was on Sunday, it was such a good party night, i had my drinks, champagne, vodka, redbull, food, air horns, flags, shirt, and blasting music after the final

I did not really go to bed, i watched Madrid TV and fell asleep for a few hours, and then it was morning already! My mouth tasted of champagne until Monday night!

I was so tired on Monday! But it didnt matter, I watched Madrid TV again and saw the parties and everything all over again, i wish i was in Madrid, but watching it on TV was 2nd best, it made me feel like i was there :)

Monday night it was another night of celebration, watching Madrid TV, seeing the players meet the royal family of Spain, the king and queen, prince and princesses, it was really good. The king also made a speach, which was so cool!! Then the team went to meet the prime minister of Spain, which was also cool, and funny, they started jumping up and down and he joined in!! All the crowd were amazing, chanting INIESTA, INIESTA!! and IKER, IKER!!

Then the players had a bus tour all over the city, it was crazy! :D Pepe Reina was going mental, and so was Piqué, it was so good, i do wish i was there! There were so many people, estimated to be 1 million people come out to support La Roja yesterday! It ended at puente del rey, where they took the stage. Fans had already been there for hours, and there was entertainment on, but the real reason people came was to see the players, and they werent disapointed :)

They took the stage, and it was great! Just like in 2008 Pepe Reina was the legendary MC, calling each player, and it was so good! He got to number 10, Fabregas, got him to the front of the stage, where he held him with Piqué and Puyol and they put a Barca shirt over him, he didnt know about that, haha!! He looked good in a Barca shirt ;) I bet the Arsenal fans didnt like that :P

It was such a great night, i still have a bad head, oh well, its all good :)

YouTube Preview Image

It was such an emotional few days, you have probably seen clips on YouTube of Iker Casillas kissing his girlfriend who works for TV channel TeleCinco Sara Carbonero. Also Pepe Reina singing and dancing to them on the plane home!!

I LOVE SPAIN, VIVA ESPAÑA!!!!!

Spain win, Semi Final here we come!

Posted by Michael on July 4, 2010

olé olé olé olé!!!!!!!!

HELLOOOOOO!!!!!

Spain won last night as you probably know! I am still amazingly happy. They are in the semi final for the first time, and will play Germany on Wednesday night for a place in the World Cup final. This is sooo cool!

I did say i would go to Madrid, but its just so impossible to get there! I would have to get a train to another city in the UK, then a plane, then the same back…Plane tickets arent too bad, but the train costs loads if you book with no advance, more than a plane!

I will probably just end up watching the game here in the UK :( Oh well, it will still be amazing! :)

Wanna know how happy i was? I looked a bit like this, and still feel like this…….

World Cup Quarter Finals

Posted by Michael on July 3, 2010

Well yesterday saw the first 2 quater final games, and it was:

Netherlands 2 – 1 Brazil
Ghana 1 – 1 Uruguay (2 - 4 on pens)

Both were good games. Netherlands finished the game in control and were the stronger side, Brazil scored first, and then lost their cool. In their usual way, the brazilians threw their toys out of the pram, lead by Philipe Melo who got sent off, Michel Bastos also should of had a 2nd booking and went off.

Poor Poor Ghana. They were leading right on half time, Uruguay equalised, and it went to extra time. Ghana had a corner, the ball got headed towards goal twice, once it was blocked, the 2nd time Luis Suarez blocked it with his hands, got sent off and Ghana had a penalty in the 30th minute of Extra time. It was the last kick of the game, Asamoah Gyan stepped up…….And missed!!! What a shame it was, and what a disgrace from Uruguay cheating. The game went to penalties, Gyan stepped up again, and scored. Ghana went on to miss 2, with Uruguay only missing one, and going through to play Netherlands for a place in the final.

Today we have Germany vs Argentina, and later Spain vs Paraguay. I am hoping to see Germany and of course Spain win :)

Spain 1 – 0 Portugal

Posted by Michael on June 29, 2010

Attention Everyone….If you look up at the sky and see a star it is not a star. Its the beaming smile i have on my face

Spain beat Portugal 1-0 to book their place into the Quater Final against Paraguay. The game is another evening kickoff, and will be on Saturday on BBC if you are in the UK.

Tonights game was great. It was hard for Spain to play, Portugal were yet another team who play 10-men behind the ball against Spain, or any other good team. They never tried to attack, and when they did it was too late. Spain dominated possesion, had a few good shots at goal, created more and deserved to win. Portugal had the odd half chance on the break which is all they could manage. Cristiano Ronaldo bearly got a kick of the ball.

I said i would go to Madrid if Spain got to the Semi Final..Well they might! I dont know if i can even go, you cant fly to Madrid from Newcastle so i would have to fly from somewhere else, which makes things more complicated, not ideal when doing something last minute.

Spain vs Portugal: Big game tonight!

Posted by Michael on June 29, 2010

It is the big one tonight! Spain vs Portugal!! :) I am nervous and excited for the game, it brings back memories of 2004 where we lost 1-0 to Portugal.

I am nervous because Spain have only played well at times, the first 2 games they played well but lost the first, the last one they played average but won, the defence looks a bit shaky. There are other questions such as is Torres fit? He doesnt look it so should he play? Xabi Alonso also picked up a knock as did Albiol, I dont think Sergio Busquets is good enough either, hes made some mistakes.

All questions will be answered at 19.30 when the game kicks off :)

England Get Mullered

Posted by Michael on June 27, 2010

Germany 4 – 1 England

Klosse (20′)
Podolski (32′)
Upson (37′)
Lampard (39′)
Muller (67′)
Muller (70′)

Outplayed, Outclassed, just 2 words which can describe England. They were worse than poor, and Germany were good.

Frank Lampard scored what would have been an equaliser at 2-2, when the ball hit the bar and bounced over the line by a mile, it wasnt given, and could of changed the game. This is no excuse though, this was a poor England who did not deserve to win at all.

They were so pathetically bad it was embarrasing. This is a team with “world class” players in it, the players who didnt really turn up, and havent really turned up in the whole world cup. The best player of the day was David James, who was decent, and the rest were a terrible disgrace.

England were torn apart, they were beaten by a far far better team, Özil ran the game for Germany with Schweinstiger. England and the media and fans will bitch on about tactics, and other excuses, play with 1 up front, you cant play with Gerrard and Lampard, and so on….The fact is they have had 4 years to get those things right, and havent. If you look at any other world class team you know the best 11 players, and can name the starting 11. With England you cant.

Tonight Fabio Capello has said he will not resign, who thinks he will be in charge for the qualifiers? I dont, but i dont put all the blame on him, most of it has to be on the players, who were terrible in all the games they played at the world cup. World Class? Where?

This is what a world class player looks like.

The goal that never was. clearly miles over the line. Shocking! Time for goal line technology? I THINK SO!!!

Spain vs Portugal on Tuesday Night

Posted by Michael on June 26, 2010

Hello lovely blog readers!! :)

I woke up today happy, last night Spain won their vital game against Chile 2-1, and got through to the last 16, where they will face neighbours Portugal. They didnt play particuarly well, but a win is a win, and hopefully will play better in the next game.

Its a grudge match, the last time they played in competition it was Euro 2004 in Portugal, where Portugal beat a poor Spain 1-0.

Tonight there is the crap games of the round, Uruguay vs South Korea @ 3PM, and tonight USA vs Ghana @ 7.30PM.

World War 3 Germany vs England

Posted by Michael on June 24, 2010

Well Well Well…It could of happened, and it has. Germany will play England in the next round of the world cup. Its the biggest game England could of played in this round, next could be Argentina, England are really up against their old enemies in this World Cup.

Last time they played in a proper competition was the group stages of Euro 2000. England won 1-0 thanks to a Shearer goal, but went out of the group with 2 defeats.

1996 was the last time it was in knockout round football, and England lost, on penalties, we all remember the Southgate miss.

1990, Italia 90, Semi final of the World Cup. The tears of Gazza, the those penalty misses from Pearce and Waddle.

But the most remembered and talked about still, is 1966. Final of the World Cup, did the ball cross the line, and England won and won the World Cup 4-2. 44 years ago, and England still talks about it.

Since i like Germany, and am from England, i want FOOTBALL to be the big winner
